How to "Add-On"

There isn't much time left to lock in your add-ons and rewards! And we've been getting a lot of questions on how to add Add-ons to your pledge. Additionally, not everyone knows what add-ons are available. Kickstarter just doesn't have a good built-in system for this, so... here's a quick tutorial!

1. So, you've taken the first step and become a backer! You're awesome.

2. Find and Browse the Add-Ons 

It's about halfway down the main campaign page. Note: on the mobile app, you have to tap on the "Campaign" button. We encourage you to take a look at all of them - there are some killer discounts (including Kickstarter pricing for Literary Consultation from Sae Sae and hiring The Black Piper to write a custom song!)

3. Identify which add-ons you want, and add up the total price for them

Let's say you're interested in the Botanica Xu bookmarks and a Stormlight Selfie. You find those two sections and identify the cost:

So, $12 for the full set of art cards and $20 for a selfie - that comes to $32.

3. Next, Go to the Main Page and Click the Button to "Manage My Pledge"

4. Increase your Pledge by the amount of the Add-ons you selected, then click Continue

5. Done! Celebrate the awesome Rewards you'll be getting in the mail!!

6. SHARE with everyone you know what you'll be getting and tell them how unbelievably excited you are!!!

This step is vital! Let the world know what you'll be getting! Show a picture and share the link! Anything you can do to show your excitement! (And let us know too!)

5 Days Left - How You Can Help Kaladin Succeed!

There's no other way to say it: you are all incredible! We've been able to accomplish so much together, and we've come to know a lot of very passionate and excited people! THANK YOU for everything you do and for the community that you are - you lift us up way more than you know!

Regarding the campaign...

First, let's talk numbers. I know it's on everyone's mind: is it possible for Kaladin to succeed when we still have $45K to raise to hit our minimum goal?

That sounds (and looks) a little daunting:

But here's the good news: It's still very possible and completely within reach to succeed!

According to Kickstarter stats: 98.5% of all projects that reach 61% support succeed! Given that we are less than 2% away from that, this is extremely heartening!

Here is my guess as to why this is: At 61%, the project reaches "critical mass". At this point, there will be enough of us banded together that we'll be a force to be reckoned with! We'll be Bridge Four when they've learned to work together with force.

But we only have 5 days left!

This actually works in our favor! With only 5 days left, Project Kaladin has an impending sense of urgency. Anyone who who is interested in the project will know that they only have a few days to make a now-or-never decision. There are so many rewards and add-ons that can only be obtained through this Kickstarter!

OK, how do we do it?!

1. Personally invite everyone you know to pledge now

 With an average pledge of: 

... if we could get 808 more backers, we'd be set! That's less than 1 person per current backer!

Will you take just a minute to send a direct message to at least 10 of your friends about the Kaladin campaign?

Privately invite them directly to the Kickstarter page. Direct, private messages are the most effective. If even 1 out of the 10 friends you talk to end up pledging, that would give us an additional 1,179 backers! With our average pledge at $55.37, that would give us an additional $65,000! 2 friends would double that to an additional $130,000! By doing this small and simple thing, you could be responsible for adding so much value through your efforts, quickly leading to us reaching - and exceeding - our minimum goal within the next few days!

2. New Tiers

We've added a number of new tiers since the beginning of the campaign - take a look and see if any of the new tiers interests you. Also...

3. Give the Gift of an Add-on

We've done a lot of work to bring you the most value with our add-ons! Take a look at the list (it's about halfway down the Kickstarter page under the "Campaign" tab). We've added a large number of new add-ons!

If there's anything that interests you, increase your pledge before the campaign closes to include the cost of any add-ons. You could even add extra add-ons to give away as gifts to someone special!

4. If you are friends with any influencers or anyone in the media, an 11th hour shout out could go a long way!

Will you reach out to anyone you know in the media or anyone on social media (Twitter, YouTube, etc) that has a large following and tell them our story? Share with them your passion for the project, and also share with them our story from the 17th Shard interview with The Black Piper, and if you thought it was moving, tell them that! Ask them if they will share our story or the Kickstarter page (even just a tweet or a shout out) with their followers.

If we all come together, we can make this happen!

This is the time to push hard! And please know that we are INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for all of your energy, passion, excitement, and help!

Reddit AMA today with The Black Piper!

OK all, one more announcement!

The Black Piper is doing an AMA today, September 19th, 2017!

What is it?

Reddit is a discussion forum that has 234 million unique users, and is organized by sub-forums called "subreddits". We will be doing our AMA (Ask Me Anything) on the r/Fantasy subreddit. What this means is that we will have a sticky post for the day on the page where you can go and ask us literally anything! It can be about the project, how we went about recording an orchestra, our personal lives, whether we like chocolate chip cookies or sugar cookies better - anything!

What time?

The post will be up all day, and you can ask questions all day. We won't necessarily be on all day (though we'll pop on here and there to check for questions and answer one or two), but we will definitely hop on around 7PM MST and will be spending our dedicated time from then until midnight MST answering whatever you throw at us!

So that's it! It's going to be a LOT of fun! If you don't have a reddit account - go snag one, and be prepared to ask away!
